Like many things now, not as well made as 20 years ago. It looks like it will hold up well though and maybe some leather dressing will soften it a bit. Pet Guys are great. They are quick to contact you if there is any problem with your order or to respond to a question.
Dealing with Pet Guys Not the best workmanship and a little stiff, but for the price is okay.

Looks nice Made in china. Metal latch is difficult to squeeze. Hope it loosens up.

The leash is made in China. The quality is not the best, but adequate. The 1" is a little ackward, so I wished I had purchased a 1/2" model. I have another 6 inch lease (brand?) and the quality is much better and the leather is softer and more flexible. This lease reminds me of a cheap leather belt that I might have purchased in my youth that never seemed to keep their looks and wore out fast. The handling loop is large - I am not sure if I like it this large (better for gloves in the winter) or dislike it because without gloves it is not as comfortable as the other leash.
