Like candy to my conure

My sun conure will eat all the safflower seeds in any mix I give him before he touches any other seeds in the mix. Safflower seeds are like candy to him. Since I have been unable to find safflower seeds at any local pet store, I decided to order them on line. The order from PetGuys.com arrived suitably well packed and on time. The seeds were fresh and clean, with no extraneous straw or other bulk material in the mix. I am happy with the order and will, no doubt, order them again. Well just have to see how long it takes one safflower seed loving conure to work his way through 4 lbs. of them.

Our bird would not eat these

Our green cheek conure loves safflower seeds. It's her favorite treat. However, she refuses to eat these. She is super excited when she sees them. But then spits them out as soon as she removes the shell. I'm not sure what's wrong with these seeds compared to the safflower seeds she likes (which is part of a pet bird mix).

I buy this for my Timneh African Grey as a foraging treat. It’s one of his absolute favorites—a little healthier than sunflower and small enough that it doesn’t dilute his diet too much.
Volkman is the only brand I’ve found that offers this seed alone in high enough quality for pet birds and Pet Guys are the only place I could find that still carries it. Hopefully it continues to stay in stock because my little Pebble would be so sad if he couldn’t find his safflower seeds in his foraging box.
