Love it but I have a question…

So I absolutely love the leash that I bought for my baby. It is like a lavender and off-white or maybe gray 16 foot retractable leash. The question I have is it came with this little black piece with two rings one on each end I wasn’t sure what that was for hopefully someone could answer me because I can’t find anything on the Internet. I wish I could post a picture.

Works great. Hope it lasts as long as my Flexi Comfort 3. Adjustable handle seems unnecessary.
