Pet Safe's 5 Meal Pet Feeder is a programmable feeder that holds a total of 5 meals. A meal is available in the first food compartment as soon as the feeder is placed on the floor. You Cat Sitter

We have been using the feeder for our cat for about 5 years now and we absolutely love it. We originally bought it so that our family would only have to check on her every 4 or 5 days, but because we like her to stay used to it feeding her, she continues to receive breakfast everyday via the petsafe.
Pros
- This feeder is very dependable, easy to clean, easy to fill and the batteries last a long time. We have only changed them once at about 2 1/2 years and it is coming up for a change soon.
Cons
- Because this feeder will work for a large dog as well as a cat, there is only enough room on the carousel for 5 bowls. If there was a feeder just for cat size portions you could get a whole weeks worth of feeding bowls on one carousel.

Automatic Pet Feeder

I like it but simply CANNOT program the darn thing. I have tried and tried, following your instructions, but it won't program to the time I want. So my cat just looks at it and walks away. HELP!!!

- I would love for it to open at 4 AM when my cat starts yowling for food, and just let me sleep.

- Great idea, but how can I get it to work???

- I don't know how long the batteries will last. Would be nice to have an indicator.

Took a while

It took three tries to program this item, all my errors. The instructions are clear, I just had to slow down to read them. My cat needed reassurance on the first three times I used the feeder, the little motor noise spooked him. No problems now, happy me, happy cat.

Wonderful and worry free. Just bought 2more for our 2 cats. Now can program their 2 meals a day for 4 days. .....yea!!

Good product

Bought two and have been using about one week. I'm happy with them. They keep synched well and trigger within 2 seconds of each other. I found the instruction easy to follow. Some reviews said they were loud but I found they only produced a short whirring sound when rotation was triggered. Cats acclimated to the sound within a couple of feedings and now sit near by awaiting it. Be aware they do have a large footprint if space is a prime consideration - it isn't for me. The only design improvements I would like to see are to increase to six feeding cups and have option of a AC adapter. Better yet with NiMH Battery charger.

- Battery operation only - no AC operation.

Doesn't advance to next feeding at next set time

This a review by someone who bought it used and was looking for instructions on line. I program the feeding times, put the food in the compartments, but the dish does not advance so the food is available at next feeding time. I was looking for troubleshooting instructions to try to discover what I'm doing wrong, but the instructions do not cover problems. Hopefully if someone bought it new, they would have a better experience. Essentially it's a great idea for my cat.
Pros
- I like that I can portion a small amount of food ahead of time for a cat that tends to eat too much.
Cons
- The food tray does not advance to make food available and when I open it to do it manually, all the set times are lost.
