Moth Prevention for Woolens
January 3, 2012
A knitting blog recommended this product as a moth control spray for stored woolens. Although this is an off label use and results are therefore not guaranteed, it is an insecticide and will probably be effective. As far as safety goes, this spray is deemed mild enough for puppies and kittens and there are no precautions stated for safe handling of your pets once applied to them so I am assuming it is safe to wear woolen outerwear treated at the same concentration as you would a pet. Of course, if any reaction occurred, I would follow label instructions. I lightly sprayed clean woolens, waited for them to dry completely and placed each in a zip-lock bag labeled with the contents and date treated. I will return each item to its zip-lock bag promptly after use and expect that I will have much less trouble with holes eaten in my clothing.
Pros
  • Very little odor once dry. Presumably less toxic than some other sprays since it is labeled safe to use on puppies and kittens. Has a growth regulator to kill eggs.
Cons
  • Nothing to dislike about this item.
