Dramatic improvement against fleas
September 24, 2014
First off, let me say this. NO flea killing product out there is going to allow you to throw away your flea comb. Unless you own a chow or other very flea resistant breed, best friends are going to get fleas on them to some degree even with the yard sprayed. You are going to have to perform routine maintenance one way or the other. Using Vet's Best sure cuts way down on the work. Our dogs and cats don't mind the spray, it's so much faster going through the dogs for a skin check. Especially long haired breeds. And all of mine are.
One of my cocker spaniels is a super flea magnet. Comb him out, let him go outside to pee, recomb him and find a while new battalion of fleas on him with a freshly sprayed yard. Any flea chemical killer has it's effect but he always gets some because he likes to visit the neighbor's cats when he can get away with it and that person doesn't spray his yard.
Turned the dog over on the table and it looks like shift change at a factory. Fleas running everywhere. Very hard to get them with the best of combs. Tried the Vet's Best Flea and Tick spray. Gave him a quick spritz across several times to get everything damp but not soaking wet. Amazing. Instant dead fleas. Comb those out at leisure and no chasing the herd around and around the dog with the comb.
Problem is, with 6 dogs and 3 cats, Vet's Best by itself required use every day and some combing, but still far better than chemical killer by itself. The BEST results were attained by still using a Fipronil product backed up with a spritz where ever fleas like the dog the most.
Still summer here, a quick spray with Vet's Best and a quick comb out and I'm done with a dog usually in less than 5 minutes. That is worth this product without the continual comb chase and quick reflex smash routine which is stressful for the dog or cat and me. During the winter we are hoping to use Vet's Best alone maybe every other day because it rarely freezes for any time here which promotes flea problems year round.
Any product is going to have it's drawbacks. This being a natural product, it washes off. You would want it to for the pet's health. It is a short term tool, meaning reuse is necessary. Expect to do a little work for your best friends, but this product sure saves a lot of wear and tear on me and the pets. It is well worth the money.
Not to mention spritzing the animal's bedding and frequented spots.
Definitely reduces number of fleas, Reduces flea combing time and work a great deal. Being natural, I'm not concerned about getting my hands wet or any damage to my animals. Leaves the pet with a nice clean fragrance. My animals are less stressed all around. Doesn't leave a nasty residue. Helps my animals with sensitive skin to flea bites feeling much better and far less welts, if any. So far, a 32 ounce bottle has gone a long way.
It isn't going to last on the animal very long, a couple of days. But reuse is quick and simple pets don't fight it.
