Green Slow Dog Feeder is a revolutionary way to turn your dog’s meal into a challenging game. Many dogs lack mental stimulation which can lead to boredom and unwanted behaviors such as inappropriate chewing or barking. By entertaining your dog with their own food allowance you can stimulate them mentally and help to remove these problems. Dimensions: 15.75" x 11.5" x 4".

  • Prolongs eating time, which is proven to significantly reduce the risk of vomiting, gagging, gas and belching
  • Helps decrease the risk of 'bloat', a potentially fatal disease for dogs
  • Simply scatter the desired amount of food across the Green and watch your dog ‘work’ to push the food out between the many blades of grass
  • Made of hard plastic (without phthalates)
  • For indoor and outdoor use
  • Dishwasher safe

Works, but
Certainly works as advertised! Needs to be put on a mat to keep from sliding, and would have liked better edges to keep the kibble in.

Great items, improves eating habit, slows down for better digestion
This has been such a great find. My 9 month old, golden retriver has gone from eating in 4 minutes (11/2 cup dry food) to 15 minutes. This slow down is much better for his health, give him a chance to digeste his food better. I love the dish. Goes into te dishwasher with no problem. I don't talk dog language, but it seems like he is also having fun with the challenge of munervering the dish to eat.

It is very rare that I rate or comment on a product but this is AMAZING! Our golden must have been a piranha in a former life. He attacks food and it is gone in a nano-second. He has had his second meal and instead of taking him 30 seconds to devour a meal, he has to really work for it. Now it takes about 10 minutes. We used a can and put in his bowl, our hands, put his food in a water bottle for him to figure out how to get it out and nothing worked. I have a feeling this will be his bowl his entire life. It is such a relief as I have been worried sick about bloat as he grew up but now, I believe this will save his life.....

This Works!
My dog could put 3 cups of food away in about a minute. Flat. The first time he used this feeder, it was obvious he was not happy and ended up laying down to eat. All in all it took him over 20 minutes that first time. Now, it's a true game to him and takes about 15 minutes for him to eat. It is also much easier to control his portions as well because he has been on a diet. Before he would snarf it so fast he had no idea that he HAD eaten and would beg for more. Now I can give less and he doesn't notice it. I love it! he loves it! Hopefully the vet will find improvement in his weight and will also love it! Thanks for a great product!

Did Slow Down Dog
ProsDid slow down dog. Designed well except for the outside edges
ConsThe outside edge needs to be higher to prevent food from falling out on floor

Got this to go along with the Kyjen Slo-Bowl Flower Slow Dog Feeder- Rescue pup inhaled her meals in 30 seconds or less. Using this feeder slows her to 8 minutes for her 1/3 cup kibble. Dogs with short-snouts will have difficulty in the center of the dish as the "grass" is higher. Her being a chihuahua was not an issue and she loves her dinners and I have peace of mind knowing she wont get sick because of eating so fast.. If you have a "bolter"- GET THIS or the Kyjen dishes asap. The best buy you can get for the one you love.
ProsGreat idea- works exactly as advertised. Easy to clean by hand using baby-bottle brush or in dishwasher (no heat if on lower rack). Sturdy and no skid bottom. Does what it is supposed to do- SLOW them down.
ConsShort-snouted breeds will have issues with the tall grass. Get the Kyjen Slo-Bowl feeders as they are shorter and work just as good. (I have both for variety)

Love it!
Takes him 7 minutes to eat 3 cups of food now. Before he would have his food gone in less than 30 seconds.

This dish is NOT for small dogs!
I saw this advertised on today show ,it looked like an excellent dish for slowing down feeding.I have a boston terrier so it was almost inhumane. He couldn't hardly get the food on the outside edges of the dish.It should probably been advertised as a dish for big dogs with long faces.I wanted to return it but the shipping was going to be another $15 so I would have paid $23 in shipping charges. So I am stuck with a dish I cant use!!

Works as discribed. Haven't noticed flatus since my boxer started using it. She was reluctant to use it in the beginning but has no problem now. 😊

Not for English bulldogs
Doesn't work for my bulldog. Perhaps you need a snout to use this..grooves are deep. Thought it was a good idea to slow down the eating..but he couldn't get food out..
ConsNeed to return but by the time you pay the shipping you only get $10 back..

Works really well
I bought it for out 18 week old german shepherd puppy who BOLTS her food and then gets sick. At first she wasnt really sure what to think and kept walking circles around it trying to lick out bits of food on the edges. soon she learned how to lick food out of the tuffs and it became like a game... it now takes her over 12 minutes to eat 2 cups of food each meal...
Proseasy to clean she has not been able to pick it up and carry it away to chew on it!
ConsNeed a mat under it to catch food that she pushes out not really an attractive color but it WORKS!

I know a lot of dogs that could benefit from this feeder
I am a small animal veterinarian, and one of my clients described the Green Interactive Slow Dog Feeder to me during an office visit with one of her dogs. I couldn't understand how it worked by her description, but was curious enough from her enthusiasm to get the info from her that would allow me to purchase one for my dogs. I have one older male that never finishes his food in time, and one fat female that inhales her food ASAP so that she can finish the other dogs meals. This product cured the problem, and did so humanely. I actually believe that the fat female enjoys the act of eating so much, that this product just prolongs that enjoyment. Now, the older male gets to eat his meals in peace without having to fight for what's left, and the female may actually start to lose some weight.
ProsIt works. It is humane. It is simple.
ConsIt really hurts when you kick it or step on it in the dark of night. Not my favorite color for our kitchen.

Getting my almost 4 year old beagle to slow down her eating time of 5 minutes or less!!!
My vet sent me the link for this saying many of her friends had dogs like my Brandy. Such as not taking a mouth full but eating fast then sitting looking at me like asking is that all? The first day we got it, I put her dry food in and she was a bit confused. After she figured it out I timed her and it took her20+ minutes to eat every morsel. However the next day and the day following getting fed morning and 'dinner time' she is now getting everything between 10-12 minutes. At least it is better than 5 minutes or less. One thing I will do different after watching the video again is sprinkle her food like it shows rather than trying to get the food spread out 'evenly'. Meaning use the measure cup and simply 'dump' it aiming at the center parts of the GREEN and not be too concerned about getting the outer edges. Since she manages when eating to 'spill' some into those out edges. Over all money well spent. And she gets 1/3 cup twice a day. When I adopted her in April she was a nice 30 pounds. Vet says she needs to be 25-30 and not more no less. Perhaps 1/3 is enough if not I will slowly increase it to no more than 1/2 cup. Plus our daily walks of 2 miles round trip 5-6 days a week. Bottom line this is worth the money, glad it was suggested.
ProsEverything. Especially it can't be chewed up.
ConsNot a darn thing.
