Consider making another smaller size for smaller dogs.

Cons
  • Make a smaller size for smaller dogs (Dachshunds)

Not what I expected

This item is a bit bigger and heavier than I expected. It probably would be good for a medium size dog but is too be for my yorkie.
Pros
  • Clever design
Cons
  • Too big and definitely too heavy.

Works for finicky eaters too!

I have two small senior dogs. One eats too fast, and the other is a daily struggle to get a meal in him. This product has been great for both dogs! It slows the eating down with the dachshund, and the other dog is now eating regularly and looks forward to meal time again. I always shake the food down to the main compartment before giving it to him. Easy to use, durable toy. The adjustable opening makes it easy to use with many kibble sizes.
Pros
  • Easy to fill and clean. The small size bob-a-lot can hold an entire meal for a 20 lbs dog with room to spare.

For the most part, worth the money.

This works quite well with our Daniff that gulps her food. It's a fun and challenging way to eat. We use it to feed and not for treats. Downfall is we cannot leave it down after she eats because it is not chew proof. She didn't destroy her first one in the first sitting, it took her 4 times to gnaw off the yellow top and the screw on threads.
Pros
  • Definitely slows down a dog and prevents gulping of food.
Cons
  • It is not chew proof and we have to separate dogs, so other dogs don't think it's a food fest.

Fun toy but not designed for hardcore chewers
February 7, 2015
I have a German Shepherd. Mordekai LOVES his bob-a-lot toy! He'll even beg for me to put it down so he can play with it. However, once the food is emptied, he'll start chewing on the yellow top. Now to top is so jagged and sharp, I have to wrap a towel around it before I can screw it off. If you have a very chewy dog who is prone to destroying their toys (for example, Mordekai only gets black kongs now), you will need to watch your dog more closely. I always supervise Mordekai when he's playing, but for this you'll probably want to keep them in your sight.
Pros
  • - very fun for dog
  • - mentally stimulating
  • - control of eating speed
Cons
  • - not well suited for very hardcore chewers

I bought this for my pot bellied pig & it's really fun. He will push it all over the house to get every last morsel of food out of it!

So-so feeder
June 6, 2012
I have quite a few interactive feeders, and this one is not a favorite. The main store site for the treats is in the top. This does not hold a full meal for my dog. Because it doesn't hold very much food, she's done with this in two seconds. The kong wobbler is definitely better.
Pros
  • It's sturdy
Cons
  • doesn't hold enough food
