Seachem Discus Buffer helps to replicate the ideal Discus environment with low pH levels and low general hardness. It softens water by precipitating calcium and magnesium and lowers pH and buffers between 5.3 and 6.8. Seachem Discus Buffer may be used in combination with Neutral Regulator to achieve a desired pH when performing water changes or adding top off water.
Use 1 level teaspoon (7g) for every 40-80 L (10-20 gallons) daily until intended pH is reached. Thereafter, use once a month or with water changes as required to maintain pH.

I bought this to help decrease the pH in a tank of chili and phoenix rasboras to a more suitable number for breeding. This works, and it keeps the pH low over time! No more fooling with products that only temporarily drop the pH and stress the fish. Since adding this slowly over a few days my rasboras colored up even brighter than before. The fish are happy and so am I.
