Zoo Med Repticare Ceramic Heat Emitters are the perfect 24 hour heat source for all reptiles. These porcelain heating devices screw into a standard porcelain incandescent socket, giving off intense "muscle-penetrating" infrared heat, while emitting no light. The flat-faced design is more efficient and longer lasting than conical designs which build up excess heat internally, ultimately carbonizing the element. An ideal 150 watt non-light emitting heat source for 50 to 100 gallon terrariums. A thermostat or rheostat can be used to control the heat output.

Features:

  • Flat-faced design is more efficient and longer lasting than conical designs which build up excess heat internally, ultimately carbonizing the element
  • Perfect for high humidity terrariums
  • Ideal for all tropical and desert reptiles
  • Lasts up to 5 years - provides an average of 25,000 hours
  • Thermostat or rheostat can be used to control the heat output

Good heat source

After purchasing a larger terrarium for my lizard, I decided I needed more heat. This product fills the bill nicely. I am using it with the recommended ZooMed lamp and lampstand. I also strongly suggest connecting it to a thermostat so you can control how much heat it puts out.
Pros
  • Gives out a lot of heat -- enough to warm a 40-50 gallon terrarium.
  • Does not emit light, so does not interfere with your pet's circadium cycle.
Cons
  • Could pose a danger to small children or pets if not properly shielded.

I have used these for several years now and love them. I have red foots and hang these in their house with a thermostat. No more having to bring them in the house. I also hang one in the barn for the 19 year old barn cat above her bed. Nice heat source without the light.

My Argentine Black and White Tegu for some reason loves jumping up and hitting his heat lamps, breaking them of course. Those of you out there that buy heat lamps know they can be pretty expensive. I was nervous about buying a heating element online figuring it would be broke on arival and I knew nothing about this company. However there price was better than anywhere else. They arrived in I think 3 days and in perfect condition very well packaged. I will with no doubt buy from these guys again.
Pros
  • Damn things worked and were cheaper than local stores with shipping.
Cons
  • There is nothing to dislike
