I was first attracted to this cage because it was solid plastic, not wire. I've heard horror stories of hamsters getting caught in the sides of wire cages, and cats getting through them, as well. I have three cats, so it was very important to me that they did not have a wire cage. At first, I thought this cage was awesome! It had everything I needed to start out with my pair of young dwarf hamsters, besides bedding and food. I quickly learned that this cage was far too small for a pair of dwarf hamsters (thanks, pet store...) and even though the compact built wheel/platforms were convenient, they easily trapped bedding, which made the wheel impossible to turn! I solved the issue by making a bin home, out of a clear plastic tote (with a lid), from WalMart. It's deep enough to fit this cage into, which gives them a nice little hiding spot for when they're feeling unsociable. I even used some of the components from this cage to customize the bin home for my hamsters needs. They have tons of room to run around now, while still utilizing their original home, and are very happy hamsters! I would not recommend this home for more than one hamster. If you do decide to purchase this home, please be sure to also get a hamster ball, and create a safe play yard for them to really stretch out in.
Pros:Solid plastic, no wires Easily taken apart for cleaning Compact, and lightweight Lots of features (wheel, tube, water bottle, platform/food tray, hiding spot underneath, expansions available)
Cons:Too small Bedding gets caught under wheel, stopping it from turning Platform/food tray is easily spilled when taken apart Only two locks to hold it together/no extra locks
I would recommend this item to a friend.
A mouse's Dream Home!

I bought this for my pair of mice, and they abosolutly love it! I liked how this cage came with almost everything you need for your animal, besides bedding food and your pet! The wheel didn't squeak for me, even though my buddies loved to run on it!
